Book Recommendation: Radical Acceptance
If this month left you asking, "So I'm just supposed to be okay with what they did?" this is the book for you.
Tara Brach wrote the book on radical acceptance. This month we've been practicing accepting the parent who won't change, the apology that isn't coming, the family you actually have instead of the one you needed. Brach takes this skill and turns it inward. She helps you work through the “trance of unworthiness,” or the belief that something is wrong with you. It's an easy read, and it pairs well with a lot of the tools we’ve covered this month. Brach gives you the self-compassion that makes it possible to stop fighting yourself every step of the way.
