You Ask, We Answer
Frequently asked questions.
Calling Home uses a three-pronged approach to help you: knowledge + tools + community.
Our knowledge and tools are informed by Whitney Goodman, LMFT's clinical work with families, as well as by current literature and research on adult family relationships. We work hard to ensure that all Calling Home content is based on current best practices in the therapeutic community. Culture, ethnicity, gender, race, and other identifying factors are integral to our approach.
Our support groups are modeled after effective peer support groups in the therapeutic community.
Members of The Family Cyclebreakers Club® have access to three types of groups. Your weekly email will contain sign-up links for all groups. You can also sign up through the Content page on our website. Space is limited.
Open House is a support group where you can listen, share stories, offer support, and connect with other family cyclebreakers. Open House meets at 5 PM ET on the third Thursday of every month and is facilitated by Whitney Goodman, LMFT, or another licensed therapist.
Overthinkers Anonymous is a weekly support group facilitated by Whitney Goodman, LMFT, or another licensed therapist. It offers a deeper dive into the applicable week’s content and themes. Overthinkers Anonymous meets at 12 PM ET every Wednesday.
The Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents Group is a bi-weekly support group facilitated by Whitney Goodman, LMFT, or another therapist. It is specifically for adult children and meets at 12 PM ET on two Thursdays per month.
